Meg Josephson, Are You Mad at Me?

About: Discussion of fawning—a trauma response that has probably gotten less press than the more familiar fight, flight, and freeze—by psychotherapist Meg Josephson.

Verdict: If you're a people-pleaser—if you run from conflict or have trouble setting boundaries or instinctively outsource your opinion to others—reading this book will be like looking in the mirror. The author discusses, among other things, how fawning may present in your life and how the strategy that once helped you survive may also lead to your losing yourself. A readable and very informative book.
