Liz Moore, The God of the Woods

About: A teen’s disappearance from her cabin at summer camp echoes that of her older brother 14 years earlier.
Verdict: There were times that I wished this book were shorter. It takes a long time to get where it’s going, and some parts could probably be cut. But it’s always well-written, with a strong sense of place, and ultimately the complicated story hangs together. Many of the characters are awful, sad humans, but there are some good people here too, happily.
