Robin Becker, Brains: A Zombie Memoir

About: The memoir of English professor turned unusually self-aware zombie Jack Barnes.

Verdict: It’s a good idea, and the writing is clever on the sentence level. Lots of gory jokes and ruminations on brains, of course. Jack seems to have been insufferable in life, and he became a better man as a zombie. But the story and characters are still thin. So lots of punch, but no pathos.
