Richard Russo, Life and Art

About: A collection of 13 essays divided between the two subjects of the book's title.
Verdict: I started this blog back in 2003 because I liked Richard Russo's book Straight Man so much. He talks about that and other books here, but I found most interesting his essays about his family and childhood back in Gloversville, "a Rust Belt mill town in upstate New York, where people didn't invite movie stars to dinner"—even if Russo's later life put him in a position to do so.
