Jason Pargin, I'm Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom

About: A motley collection of misfits get involved in transporting a big black box—potentially of doom—across country. When the internet gets wind of the goings-on, conspiracy theorists come out of the woodwork.

Verdict: Clever dialogue, likable characters, a fun story, and an indictment of modern society I can actually get behind. There are lots of moving parts, including multiple storylines that ultimately converge and an epistolary element, as Reddit posts are incorporated throughout. I would normally find it annoying to be dragged out of the main narrative to read a bunch of text messages, but the device works really well here.
