Jack London, Blanka Kanino. Trans. Klivo Lendon

About: Esperanto translation of Jack London's White Fang, the story of a hybrid wolf-dog's survival in the inhospitable Canadian wilderness and, later, in the often brutal company of men.

Verdict: Well, the Esperanto translation made reading this worthwhile, but I don't come away a huge fan of the original novel. It's interesting in that it provides a dog's-eye view of the world. But Lord, what a depressing and horrible story, filled with animal abuse. I'm very happy I never read it as a child. It's also strangely patched together, with a weird introductory section focused on characters who then disappear from the novel completely.
