A.J. Rich, The Hand That Feeds You

About: A grad student studying the psychology of victims comes home to find her fiancé mauled by dogs—an incident that leads to her learning he was not who he said he was.
Verdict: This book started strong and held my interest for maybe half its length before it became just too much—too many crimes and too many twists, too many characters. Although only 289 pages, it felt overlong as it is padded with unnecessary details. Despite that, the pacing in the latter half was rushed. Ultimately, the book was boring and predictable and ridiculous.
